The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The second day of the second Test between England and Sri Lanka took place at the Galle International Stadium. In the first innings, the Lankans were bowled out for a score of 381 on the board. In the first day’s play, Angelo Mathews notched a score of 110 on the board. Niroshan Dickwella was unlucky to have missed out on his century. The left-handed batter perished to James Anderson. Dilruwan Perera also got a useful score of 67 off 170 balls for his team.

For the Brits, Anderson was the best of the lost as he picked up six wickets, conceding only 40 runs. Mark Wood was second best for the visiting team as he picked up three wickets. In reply to Lanka’s score, England have thus far scored 98 runs for the loss of two wickets in their 30 overs. Zak Crawley and Dominic Sibley perished cheapy and both of them fell prey to Lasith Embuldeniya.

Joe Root was excellent as he stayed unbeaten on 67 runs and he played at a strike-rate of 87 showing how much dominant he has been. In the meantime, the likes of Anderson, Dickwella and others garnered praises from the cricketing fraternity.
