The cricketing trends on social media revolved around the India-Australia game, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and also Afghanistan’s heroic performance in their T20I series against Ireland. India and Australia played out an absolute thriller in Vizag which saw the visiting team end up on the winning side, despite a herculean bowling effort from Jasprit Bumrah.

Indian cricket legend Farokh Engineer celebrated his birthday and Twitterati poured in their best wishes for the 81-year-old.

Afghanistan registered their third win in their T20I series against Ireland, eventually registering a clean sweep. Mohammad Nabi starred with the bat as Afghanistan posted 210 runs batting first. Despite getting off to a fiery start in the run chase, Ireland lost momentum towards the end courtesy a mind-boggling spell from Rashid Khan. He also picked up a hattrick in the process, becoming the first spinner to do so T20Is.
