Cricketing Trends on Social Media today

The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The third Test between India and England ended on Thursday, February 25 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match didn’t even take two days to end and it turned out to be a low-scoring affair. In their second innings, the Three Lions couldn’t even reach 100 runs. In their fourth innings, India only needed 49 runs to win. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill helped India accomplish the target without a loss of a wicket.

The match was also a memorable one for Ravi Ashwin as the bowler picked up his 400th wicket in the game. He became the second-fastest bowler to reach the milestone as he got to the feat in a mere 77 Tests. Muttiah Muralitharan, the former Sri Lanka cricketer, reached the landmark in 72 matches. Ashwin dismissed Jofra Archer in the second innings and conjured accolades from the crowd at the venue.

Amol Muzumdar lauded Ashwin for getting to the landmark. In the 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans faced off at the National Stadium in Karachi. Danny Morrison, the former New Zealand cricketer, seemed excited before the game. The cricketers also felt that England’s batting wasn’t great in Ahmedabad.
