It wasn’t the most eventful of days in the cricketing world as there was barely anything happening around the fraternity. But the cricketing trends were mostly revolving around the players celebrating their Diwali vacation and getting back to the training grounds. The festival of lights kept most of them preoccupied as they spent quality time with friends and family.
The cricketing world was also excited with Papua New Guinea qualifying for the T20 World Cup next year. The Islanders from the South-west Pacific ocean registered a stunning win against Kenya on Sunday, which secured their berth in the top 10 of the T20 World Cup which is to be held in Australia. Interestingly, PNG made a stunning comeback in this game from 19/6 to batting first to eventually winning the game by 45 runs.
On the other side, Pakistani women sealed a series win against Bangladesh, who are currently touring Pakistan. Pakistan won the second game on Monday to go 2-0 up in the series and gained an unassailable lead in the 3-match series. Javeria Khan Bismah Mahroof starred for the Pakistanis as they won the game on Monday by 15 runs.
The excitement is also building up for the upcoming series between India and Bangladesh, especially after the news broke out that there could be a day-night Test in Kolkata. The news as of now is that the BCCI has made a proposal and the BCB is yet to accept it. The fans are eagerly waiting for developments in this regard.
