Cricketing Trends on Social Media Today

The Indian government’s move of banning 59 Chinese applications after the cross-border tensions was welcomed by many Indian citizens. Among those 59 applications, one app which had gathered the most attention was TikTok.

Be it Bollywood stars of cricket internationals, everyone had used the app once in a while. David Warner and Yuzvendra Chahal were two such individuals who have been using the app extensively. Ravichandran Ashwin, after the ban, even took a sly dig at Warner and asked the southpaw for his reaction after the ban.

Meanwhile, wishes poured in for Veda Krishnamurthy, who celebrated her 27th birthday on Tuesday. Having represented India in 48 ODIs and 76 T20Is, Veda received birthday wishes from her fans as well as teammates.

Talking about the resumption of cricket, England and West Indies are scheduled to lock horns in a breakthrough Test series, starting from July 8. Ahead of the series, West Indies showed solidarity towards ‘BlackLivesMatter’ movement and released a kit while extending support. Sheldon Cottrell also lauded West Indies for their move and highlighted the ‘legacy’ of the Caribbean side.
