Cricketing Trends on Social Media Today

The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around two New Year Test matches between Sri Lanka and South Africa and New Zealand and Pakistan. The home sides are currently dominating the proceedings and the cricketing fraternity was busy praising the top performers from the teams.

Kane Williamson notched up his 24th Test ton of his career playing some majestic strokes during his unbeaten stay in the middle at the Hagley Oval. He and Henry Nicholls stitched an unbeaten double-hundred stand to put New Zealand in a commanding position. Witnessing his knock, the likes of VVS Laxman and Dinesh Karthik couldn’t stop themselves from lauding the Kiwi skipper.

On the other hand, Dean Elgar, the South African opener, scored his 13th Test ton on the second morning at The Wanderers helping his team take a healthy in the first innings. JP Duminy was all praise of the left-hander and was looking forward to a great game of cricket.
