IPL 2021 has been postponed indefinitely.

The biggest news of the day arrived with the IPL Governing Council Chairman Brijesh Patel communicating the unanimous decision of the BCCI and IPL management to indefinitely postpone the 14th edition of the league in the wake of increasing Covid-19 cases.
Earlier in the day, Amit Mishra and Wriddhiman Saha tested positive for Covid-19, which acted as a catalyst for the management to take the call of halting IPL midway. There were questions being raised from many corners after IPL noticed a few midway exits, although things took a serious turn once the first case was reported.
After messing up the cricket calendars previous year, it seems that things are set to go the same way this time around as well. A little more bad news followed later in the day as famous cricket journalist Ruchir Mishra passed away suffering from Covid-19.
Meanwhile, former cricketer Vinod Kambli wished everyone well after the postponement of the IPL. He took to Twitter and stated: “Unfortunate and heart-breaking for all cricket fans. Looking forward to better times ahead when we can enjoy the game again. But till then, request everyone to take precautions and get vaccinated as soon as possible. We shall come back stronger.”
Giving his opinion on BCCI‘s decision, Michael Vaughan tweeted: “Seems a very sensible decision to postpone the IPL .. Now cases have started to appear inside the bubble they had no other option .. Hope everyone stays safe in India and all the overseas players can find a way back to there families.”

We have to provide concentrators to patients whose oxygen is dipping. I urge people with 93 & above to not fill up forms. Time saved in sorting can help many 🙏🙏 https://t.co/rGJA1kzQ64
