Cricketing trends in Twitter today saw tweets coming in from all around the globe. Most of the talks and social updates had the focal point of the Steve Smith DRS fiasco. Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden urged both sides to move on from the issue and focus on cricket. Meanwhile, Gujarat skipper Parthiv Patel celebrated his 32nd birthday today.

The BCCI Annual Awards for 2016-17 also took place on the day as Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin bagged the top honors. Kohli expressed his gratitude towards all after having received the Polly Umrigar award. David Warner was sad since the three most important ladies of his life had to head back home. Brendon McCullum hailed Tim Southee as the true team player for being supportive to other players despite being left out of the playing eleven.

Also, Alex Tudor looked extremely happy for having completed his fourth marriage anniversary. Irfan Pathan looks raring to go for the knockouts of the Vijay Hazare Trophy after team Baroda continues to impress. Amidst all the brouhaha of the Steve Smith issue, Damien Martyn finds the silver lining. He noted that at least now the teams have started off the real battle.
