Team India Test wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha has backed the chances of Indian side to win the big game against Pakistan in the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Recently, Saha spoke at how well the men in blue has fared in the competition thus far. He called the Indian team as the favorites for the finals.
As per the recent quotes in News18, Wriddhiman Saha remarked that the game against Sri Lanka was the solitary low spot for the Indian team in the tournament this year. However, he has not ruled out Pakistan from the game and said that the team that maintains composure will win.
“Barring one match (against Sri Lanka) India have done well in every department and they are overall favourites. It’s no surprise, you ask anyone, he or she will put India in the hot seat. It’s a high pressure game and the most important thing is to maintain composure. The team who will perform well will win,” quoted Wriddhiman Saha.
On the Pakistani team
Saha had his words reserved for the Pakistani team. He lauded the way Pakistan team has seen a resurgence since their first game defeat against India. He mentioned that the Pakistan bowling has improved leaps and bounds since then. But, he still backs the Indian team to topple the men in green on the big day.
“Pakistan have bowled really well since the first game against India. It’s easy to say that India are better than Pakistan. That’s why I will always put India in front,” said Saha.
He also added that the Indian bowlers have been no less either. He pointed out that the Indian bowlers have been able to bowl out oppositions too. “Every match in this tournament was vital. India have bowled well in every match and got teams all out too,” Saha conceded.
