Team India continued to play their aggressive brand of cricket when they took on Bangladesh in the second semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Indian skipper Virat Kohli led from the front as he batted the opposition away along with Rohit Sharma. Rohit and Kohli put on an unbeaten second wicket stand to ensure a 9-wicket thumping win for the Indian team.

Earlier in the game, the Indian bowlers had done a commendable job by restricting Bangladesh to a mere 264 after having conceded significant amount of runs in the middle overs. After the game, skipper Virat Kohli looked very pleased with the complete performance putforth by the team.

As per the quotes in Bdcrictime.com, Kohli remarked that even the Indian camp did not expect to be an easy win. He went on to say that such is the might of the Indian top order that they can bat out the oppositions. He noted that an in-form top order helps to lower the burden on the middle-order.

“Another complete game. We needed to have a clean, collective game. We didn’t expect to win by nine wickets, but that’s the quality of our top order. It’s never a worry when your middle order isn’t batting too much. Everyone is hitting the ball magnificently in practice. It’s a worry when your middle order is required to bat too early in the game, too often,” Virat Kohli quoted.

On his own form

Talking about his own batting form, Kohli conceded that his aim is always to take the initial bit of time to settle in. Once he finds his feet moving, he can take things under control from thereon.

“I wanted to give myself some time, 10-15 balls. Last time, we lost a wicket, so I had to adapt, I like those challenges. I grew in confidence. When you’re coming onto the short ball, you know you’re playing well,” said Kohli about his own batting form.
