India is currently in South Africa for the gruelling tour of 3 Tests, 6 ODIs and 3 T20Is among which the first Test is in progress in Cape Town. There seems to be no love lost between the players as they are giving their best for their respective countries. Though when they meet off the field, the cricketers are no less than good friends with a lot of them playing the Indian Premier League (IPL) together. However, in one such instance, Dale Steyn was seen admiring the tattoos inked by Umesh Yadav on his body after the end of first day’s play.
Steyn returned to competitive cricket at the highest level on Friday and it took only 14 deliveries for him to strike. Fittingly, he took the catch off his own bowling and soaked in the applause from the crowd on his comeback. He has come back to the national side after almost a year as he was injured during the series against Australia which threatened to end his career as well. Though having returned to the set up he would love to contribute for his country and make amends.
What kind of tattoos they possess?
Inking tattoos on the body has become the style quotient these days with a lot of Indian cricketers opting to do so including their skipper Virat Kohli. Similarly, Umesh Yadav also finds an inspiration from these tattoos as he has inked Lord Shiva on his arm. He also possesses Virgin Mary and a ‘blessed child’ tattoo on his arms. Dale Steyn, on the other hand, has the three Protea blossoms in the national colours of blue, red and yellow on his left bicep. The mutual admiration between the two over these tattoos is surely not surprising as they have something common in their liking.
Kohli, the Indian captain, also loves to get his hand filled with tattoos as it is the latest trending fashion. He has his zodiac sign Scorpio and a tattoo of Japanese Samurai Warrior designed on his arm. Even the likes of Shikhar Dhawan is its fins having inked his left bicep with the theme of ‘Carpe Diem’.
