The six-match ODI series between India and South Africa is still alive courtesy a stupendous show of the hosts in Pink ODI on Saturday at Johannesburg. Their batsmen finally had the answers to the Indian wrist-spinning duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. The Wanderers was buzzing with Pink on the day and it was festive mood after the home team won the closely fought match. However, even the injured Dale Steyn was delighted after the victory and hailed the team in Pink for putting up a tremendous show.

South Africa, with a win, also kept their unbeaten record on Pink ODIs intact which has now increased to 6. They seemed to play a completely different level of cricket on the day and were also boosted by the return of their gun player AB de Villiers. Even the likes of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller returned to form when it was needed and helped the team win the match.

India, on the other hand, had a rough day on the field as they made numerous mistakes which eventually played in the hands of their opposition While Shreyas Iyer dropped a catch of Miller, Chahal reprieved him soon as he was castled off a no-ball. The fielders also fumbled quite a lot as the pressure got to them in the dying stages of the game.

Dale Steyn was well aware about the game and he seems to be following the series closely. He was delighted after Andile Phehlukwayo hit the winning six and couldn’t control himself from posting the message for his teammates on Twitter. “Power in pink #ProteasFire,” he tweeted. Surely there is some power in Pink as South Africa always bring their ‘A’ game on the day and somehow manage to trump the opposition.

Steyn is currently nursing a heel injury which he sustained during the first Test match against India and is expected to return for the upcoming Test series against Australia which is all set to commence on March 1.
