Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi claimed that they did not use any special coin during the toss in any of the matches of recently concluded Independence Cup. Sarfraz Khan’s Pakistan team won against Faf Du Plessis’ side in the 3-match T20I series by 2-1.

Each and every member of the World XI side did receive a specially made silver coin in the memory of this historic series. Pakistan held its first International series after a gap of eight years as cricketing nations refused to play in the country post-terror attack on the Sri Lankans, citing security issues.

The coin was handed over to the President of the Cricket West Indies (CWI), Dave Cameron. “It (the coin) is similar to what the players received”, claimed David Cameron according to Pak Observer. A prominent member of the World XI team, Darren Sammy, was not present for the event to accept his medal from Cameron as he was busy taking a toilet break.

Sammy also did the same during one of the matches of PSL

“During one of the matches in the Pakistan Super League also, he went for a toilet break at the presentation. However, this time it was not a genuine toilet break by him”, accused one of the sources. This might be related to the bitter relationship Sammy has with the President of CWI, Cameron who was also present at the podium during the felicitation ceremony.

When repetitively asked whether he was humiliated or embarrassed by such act of emergency from Darren Sammy, Cameron refused to comment any further about the issue. “I don’t want to say anything on this. No comments”, Apparently, Cameron was satisfied with the security and other arrangements for the series and is likely to send the Windies team to Pakistan for the bilateral matches.
