Another adorable moment took place during a cricket match in the Mattan area of South Kashmir in the Anantnag district.

Controversies surrounding Kashmir Premier League

As far as Kashmir is concerned, the ongoing Kashmir Premier League has hogged the headlines to a large extent in recent times. The tournament got underway on Friday, August 6 and will take place until Tuesday, August 17 at the Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium in the PoK. Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India also got involved in the ongoing cricket league.

Former South Africa cricketer Herschelle Gibbs and former Pakistan wicket-keeper Rashid Latif talked about the BCCI issuing threats to foreign players over taking part in the championship. Monty Panesar, the retired England spinner, backed out from the league after the BCCI threatened to bar the overseas cricketers from activities in India if they took part in the KPL.

A few days ago, it was also learned that the BCCI urged the International Cricket Council to not recognise the KPL. Moreover, the Pakistan Cricket Board lashed out at the BCCI for allegedly forcing the foreign players to back out from the tournament in Muzaffarabad.

Mirpur Royals, Rawalakot Hawks, Bagh Stallions, Kotli Lions, Overseas Warriors and Muzaffarabad Tigers are the six participating teams in the tournament.

The Hawks are leading the charts with five points from three games followed by the Stallions. The Warriors and Lions are yet to open their account in the event after their first two matches.
