Former English cricketer and a popular face in the commentary panel David Llyod have taken a sly dig at Team India captain Virat Kohli for his comments after the conclusion of the 4th and the final Test in Dharamsala. Following India’s 8 wicket victory, Virat spoke his heart out and made it pretty clear that he won’t be considering any of the Australian players as his friends in the near future.
Having finished off the series on a high, Llyod felt it was unnecessary to comment like that after the conclusion of the hard-fought series. Taking to his twitter handle Llyod wrote, “This lad certainly has a lot to say …maybe should sit and LISTEN to S Tendulkar.” While both Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar is superstars in their own rights, Tendulkar got more love and respect from the world due to his off-field conduct and down to earth nature.

Irrespective of his cricketing skills, Tendulkar was hardly seen getting into verbal volleys with the opposition and a result they were pretty sure that it wasn’t a good option to sledge the master. He was a through and through gentleman and one of the greatest ambassadors of the game. Kohli, on the other hand, is a more emotional guy and tends to speak his heart out and has an opinion on every scenario.
The India-Australia series witnessed some controversial moments despite some exceptional brand of cricket being played by both the teams. It all began with the Bengaluru Test when Aussie captain Steve Smith looked at the dressing room for confirmation of a review call. Virat Kohli slammed him at the post-match press conference and without mentioning the world, called the Aussie’s cheats. He also went on to add it wasn’t the first time they had looked at the dressing room for confirmation as he had seen it being repeated while he was batting.
The Australian media has kept on criticising Kohli for his deeds but with the Indian Premier League (IPL) coming up in a few days time it remains to be seen how these cricketers mingle with each other after such a high voltage series. While Steve Smith will be captaining the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Glenn Maxwell will be leading the likes of Murali Vijay and Wriddhiman Saha.
