Although the Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their tournament opener to hosts Kolkata Knight Riders, they are still high on positive vibes. Skipper Kane Williamson has entered the party late; he was not in India on the festival of Holi. But when he arrived yesterday, a belated Holi was played just for the New Zealander.

Williamson was spotted playing Holi with David Warner in the SRH camp. He first pumps water onto Warner, for which the opening batsman takes revenge in his own style. The Australian then sprayed liquid colours on Williamson’s head. Earlier, the other IPL franchises too had celebrated Holi in their own distinctive ways. Warner and Williamson are the biggest weapons for the Sunrisers. While the New Zealander’s captaincy is among the best in the tournament, Warner proved his mettle against Knight Riders by scoring a stupendous knock.

Under the captaincy of fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hyderabad began their IPL 2019 campaign with a six-wicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. Warner had missed the entire 2018 season after his ban for his involvement in the infamous ball-tampering scandal. The 32-year-old batsman made a remarkable return as he smashed 85 runs off 53 balls, including nine boundaries and three sixes.

Sunrisers take on the Royals next

SRH will next take on Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday. Not only do they have an explosive batting line-up, but much like last year, their bowling line-up is also impressive with the likes of Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddharth Kaul. Kane Williamson’s return to captaincy will further boost the side as he led them to the final of the tournament in 2018. This year too, they will be hoping to make it to the playoffs.
