David Warner congratulates Indian women’s hockey team for making into Olympics semi-finals

The Indian Women’s Hockey team defeated the Australian Women 1-0 to fix their spot in the semi-finals of the Olympics for the first time in history. This incredible achievement by the girls is a special one for the country and wishes are been flooded from all over. The Australian cricketer David Warner extended his praising to the team for their triumph.

India and Australia battled it out in the Women’s Hockey Quarterfinals at the Tokyo Olympics wherein India defeated the world number two Australian side to pave their way into the semifinals. Replying to the tweet by the Sunrisers Hyderabad team’s official account, David Warner took it to Twitter to wish the Indian team. He appreciated the Australian team and also wished luck to the Indian Hockey team.

It was the Indian Women’s Hockey team’s third Olympics after 1980 and 2016 and the team exuded their sheer flair by making it to the top four. The SRH had tweeted: HISTORY MADE! First-ever Olympic semifinal reached! Make more history, @TheHockeyIndia #Cheer4India #Tokyo2020. Warner then replied to it with his tweet that read: “Well done to our girls they did their best and congratulations to India, good luck.”

Recently the Australian team was seen cheering Mitchell Starc’s brother Brandon from Dhaka. Brandon Starc is a high jumper who was involved in the action for the men’s high jump final in Tokyo on Sunday. Warner too had come forward to appreciate the efforts of Brandon as he tweeted about it.

The SRH team had posted an image of the countdown for the England and India Test series. Warner commented on the post: “Make sure we all supporting @pvsindhu1 please she needs our support.” PV Sindhu defeated China’s He Bing Jiao to win a bronze at the Tokyo Olympics. Warner retweeted Boria Majumdar’s tweet wherein the latter had written: “Hey @davidwarner31 you supported @Pvsindhu1 so this for you. Watch https://youtu.be/MOtolhgWeQk and keep cheering for India!! Thanks for your message for Sindhu.”

Warner is always active on his social media accounts and keeps the fans entertained through his engaging posts. On the occasion of Friendship Day, the Southpaw had shared a picture with SRH teammates Williamson and Jonny Bairstow.
