'Thank you for opening your arms to my family and me' - David Warner pens emotional note after DC crash out of IPL 2022

Much to the disappointment of their fans, Delhi Capitals (DC) exited the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after suffering a defeat at the hands of the five-time champions Mumbai Indians in their final group stage match of the tournament on May 21 (Saturday).

With DC getting knocked out of the competition, the Capitals opener David Warner shared an emotional post on his social media accounts. The left-handed batter from Australia also paid gratitude to the franchise for supporting him and his family during the competition. Warner also said that the Capitals side will bounce back strongly next year.

Taking to his Instagram account, Warner wrote, “To everyone involved @delhicapitals, thank you for opening your arms to my family and me. We can not thank you enough for the love and support. You allowed us to come into your family, and we are forever grateful.”

“I know we didn’t get the result we wanted, but what I can say is that every individual player, coach, background staff, the digital team, you name it, we gave our all. All we can do is learn and come back stronger,” Warner added.

It must be noted that the left-handed batter was released by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. As a result, Warner was bagged by the Capital franchise for INR 6.25 crore. The pocket-sized dynamite was one of the most prominent performers for DC as he amassed 432 runs from12 matches at an excellent strike rate of 150.52 along with an impressive average of 48.00.

Meanwhile, the final group stage match of IPL 2022 will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on May 22 (Sunday). After that, the playoffs will take place from May 24 (Tuesday) in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
