Both Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad would be hoping to get back to winning ways and revive their respective campaigns as they face off against each other in Match 50 of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. SRH skipper Kane Williamson won a crucial toss and asked the Capitals to have a bat.

Delhi lost the wicket of Mandeep Singh for a duck in the very first over and Mitchell Marsh did not last too long either but when Rishabh Pant played some attacking strokes along with David Warner, DC looked to be heading towards a mammoth total. However, it was the bowler who had the last laugh as he succeeded in sending a rampaging Pant back to the dugout before he did further damage.

A lapse in concentration costs Rishabh Pant his wicket

Leggie Shreyas Gopal came to bowl in the ninth over. On the first delivery, Warner worked him to the on-side for a single as Rishabh Pant came on strike. It was then a merciless approach from Pant throughout the over. On the next delivery, the southpaw dispatched him over square leg for a maximum. The wicketkeeper-batter continued the onslaught in the next two deliveries as he fetched back-to-back sixes by hitting one over the bowler’s head and the next one was wide over long-off.

The DC skipper then hit a four from the penultimate delivery and completely transferred the pressure back to Gopal who had already conceded 23 runs by that point in time. Nonetheless, the leg-spinner kept his nerves and took up the challenge of deceiving the in-form Rishabh Pant. Click here to watch the video.

On the final delivery of that over, he bowled a wide-full toss and the left-hander once again looked to dispatch it into the stands. Unfortunately for him, the ball ended up taking a huge inside edge of his bat and rattled the off-stump. A shell-shocked Pant had no choice other than to take a long walk back to the dugout but not before scoring 26 runs from 16 deliveries at a strike rate of 162.50 including a four and three sixes.
