DDCA gets respite from Delhi HC, set to hold India v South Africa 4th Test: A breathing space has been offered to the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) as the Delhi High Court on Wednesday paved way for them to hold the India v South Africa fourth Test match. The court also directed South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to issue provisional occupancy certificate to the DDCA.

HC also appointed Justice Mukul Mudgal to oversee the affairs of fourth India-South Africa’s Test match. Delhi HC in its observation said, “We don’t want to penalize the people and players by not holding the match.”

DDCA moved High Court on Tuesday with a plea seeking a direction to South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) over issuing a provisional occupancy certificate (POC) to hold the international match at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.

While the match is scheduled to be held from December 3 to December 7, DDCA has sought POC from December 1 to 10. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had formed a three-member committee to probe complaints of financial irregularities and wrongdoings in the state association and did come out with a report on Tuesday which found the allegations to be true and suggested the BCCI to suspend the body.

India have named an unchanged squad for the final two Test matches against South Africa. India is set to play in Nagpur from November 25 and then travel to the capital city Delhi, as the fourth and final Test of the Freedom series that will be starting from December 3.
