“DDCA should be suspended” : Delhi Government: Delhi government’s probe into the irregularities of the local cricket body, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), has proposed that the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) should suspend the DDCA, while confirming that this probe has nothing to do with the upcoming India-South Africa Test in the capital city next month.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government had assigned a three-member committee to initiate the probe after turning down DDCA’s request to waive the Rs 24-crore entertainment tax in order to ease the burden on the association to host the Test scheduled to start December 3.

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur had earlier warned the Delhi and District Cricket Association over the possibility of losing the hosting rights of World T20 matches next year as well as the forthcoming Test match.

“We have to wait and watch till November 17 if Delhi is ready or not for the Test. If Delhi fails to stage the Test, the venue may also lose the World T20 matches,” Thakur said

DDCA President Sneh Prakash Bansal sounded optimistic about the outcome and is keeping his fingers crossed for the game scheduled to be held at the Feroz Shah Kotla. “Meetings are taking place. Let’s hope that everything falls into place. We are all working towards it,” he said.
