Deep Dasgupta predicts India's playing XI for T20 World Cup 2022

India and Pakistan continued their historic cricket rivalry in the second match of the 2022 Asia Cup on Sunday. Indian fans were very eager to learn about the starting eleven before this mega clash with key players returning to the T20 setup. With T20 World Cup scheduled in October, fans and pundits believe that the Indian management is likely to go ahead with the same preferred eleven for both tournaments. The former cricketer Deep Dasgupta has also predicted India’s starting eleven for the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.

Deep predicted his starting eleven before India’s mega clash against Pakistan while speaking on BatBricks7’s Run Ki Runneeti show on CricTracker. He believed that India will start with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul opening the innings and Virat Kohli playing in the number three position. He named Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant in the middle order and Ravindra Jadeja in the number seven role.

Deep Dasgupta believes Indian management will prefer a similar eleven for the T20 World Cup

There were two surprise inclusions in India’s starting eleven for the Pakistan clash with Dinesh Karthik starting over Rishabh in the wicketkeeping role. The right-arm pacer Avesh Khan also started as Deep was expecting India to start with three spin options in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi. After learning about India’s starting eleven, Deep said that the Indian management is likely to prefer a similar starting eleven with two changes in the form of Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh’s inclusion in the current team.

Deep Dasgupta pointed out that Indian setup is looking to form a core group of players for the T20 World Cup and is likely to prefer the same first eleven in Australia. He said that the management is focusing on the big picture right now and sticking with a current squad will be beneficial in the mega tournament.
