It was a happy day for Deepak Chahar, the Indian fast bowler, on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The talented speedster had the privilege of staying at home on the special day and getting the Rakhi tied from his beloved sister Malti Chahar. Raksha Bandhan is observed on the final day of the Hindu lunar calendar month of Shraavana, which generally falls in August.

Sharing his delight and jubilation on the day, the 27-year-old Chahar shared an adorable video clip where Malti proudly put a tika on the forehead of Deepak. Thereafter, she tied the Rakhi on her brother’s right wrist. Then she fed Deepak with some sweets after which the latter gave her some bundle of notes as a gift.

He captioned the heartfelt video and wrote, “Happy Raksha Bandhan to all brothers and sisters. I wish I was a girl #rakhi#rakshabandhan #brother #sister#love @maltichahar

Malti Chahar happy for Deepak and Rahul

Recently, Malti Chahar oozed pride as both her brothers- Deepak and Rahul- played together for the national team. In the third T20I versus the Windies at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, Rahul made his international debut. To add to her delight, Deepak became the Player of the Match for his incredible spell of 3-1-4-3 where he got rid of Evin Lewis, Sunil Narine and Shimron Hetmyer.

Rahul also didn’t disappoint and picked up Carlos Brathwaite as his maiden wicket, donning the national colours. Prior to the game, Virat Kohli, the Indian captain, handed over the cap to Rahul. India won the game by seven wickets and Malti said that it was the proudest moment for the entire Chahar family. She dropped a tweet, sharing four pictures involving Deepak and Rahul.

She also congratulated Rahul on getting his maiden international cap from Virat. On August 7, Deepak celebrated his 27th birthday and Malti expressed her joy, wishing her brother on Twitter. She uploaded one of their childhood pictures where Deepak was seen feeding Malti cake. Malti called him a pure hearted soul and was blessed to have him as her brother.
