Indian middle-order batsman Suresh Raina has once again failed to seal a berth in the Indian team. The BCCI announced the squad for the 3-match ODI series against New Zealand earlier in the day. Apart from Raina, Yuvraj Singh too, didn’t find a spot in the squad. The ODI series between India and New Zealand will commence from 22nd October.

Raina last featured in the India side during the T20I series against England. The left-handed batsman is currently leading Uttar Pradesh in their Ranji Trophy campaign. Raina can be seen posting clips and pictures from his work-out sessions. The fact that he is a fitness freak is no secret and that’s why his fans were surprised to hear that he has failed the fitness test not just once.

Nothing is tough in life: Raina

“I am working hard and there is nothing tough in life, if you enjoy your process and enjoy your cricket and I have always done that,” he said.”When I got injured that was a difficult time of my life. So it (the comeback) is nothing and I am enjoying it and things will come in my time,” Raina said recently.

Uttar Pradesh lost their Ranji opener against Railways in a low-scoring affair. “The boys are still learning. The wicket was little different. We have still five more games to go and after that match we had a chat. In the Duleep trophy you have seen wicket and its not in my hand to win the toss. So we had to bat on the fourth day and it wasn’t easy,” he concluded.

Inspiring video

The southpaw posted yet another video on social media today. He shared the clip with a caption that reads “Today’s pain is tomorrow’s strength! Never skip your work out session! Just, sweat, smile and repeat!” Let’s take a look at the video:
