The Delhi franchise has been quite unfortunate in the history of the Indian Premier League. They have lost out on winning close shaves, and have often found themselves in the unwanted half of the points table. They played as the Delhi Daredevils in all the previous editions of the tournament and this season, they will take the field as the Delhi Capitals. They are hoping for a change in fortune with the change in their team name.
Also, the team think-tank has put in a lot of effort to revamp the current Delhi setup. They have roped in young guns in the side and they will be led by a young turk in Shreyas Iyer. Among the various youngsters who would step up on the field for the Delhi Capitals this season is batter Sherfane Rutherford. The 20-year-old Windies cricketer is a hard-hitting batsman who is renowned for hitting mighty sixes.
And in a recent video that the official social handle of the Capitals shared, this fact is only getting validated to every bit. Rutherford is seen clobbering one over the deep square leg region in one of the practice sessions. The Capitals did not miss out on an opportunity to brag about their new six-hitting batter. Well, are the other teams watching?
Check out the video here:
“Out of the park! How many metres did Sherfane Rutherford hit that? #ThisIsNewDelhi #DelhiCapitals,” the Delhi Capitals captioned the video that they shared.
