Delhi Daredevils renew sponsorship deal with Daikin

Indian Premier League outfit the Delhi Daredevils has reportedly renewed their sponsorship deal with air-conditioning company Daikin. The previous season of the IPL saw the Delhi Daredevils slump to the bottom of the league standings. The 2016 edition of the IPL is scheduled to run from April 9 to May 29.
Kanwaljeet Jawa, Managing Director, Daikin India said that cricket is a religion in India with the IPL being one of the most watched leagues in India. “Cricket is a religion in India and the IPL is one of the most watched leagues in the world. Our partnership with Delhi Daredevils (DD), which is one of the most promising teams, is part of Daikin’s continued efforts to build a sporting culture amongst the youth,” he said.
Hemant Dua, CEO, Delhi Daredevils was pleased to announce the renewal of sponsorship with Daikin. “I would like to thank Daikin for reposing its faith in the team and coming on board as sponsors for the second year in a row. I am confident that this association will continue to benefit both the parties and will also contribute in the betterment of sports in the country,” Dua added.
The schedule for the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League was announced on the 10th of March.The new franchise, the Rising Pune Supergiants will take on the Mumbai Indians in the first match at the Wankhede Stadium on the 9th of April. The other new IPL outfit, the Gujarat Lions, led by Suresh Raina will take on the Kings XI Punjab at Mohali on the 11th of April in what seems to be an exciting time for the new outfits. Since the Mumbai Indians won the previous season of the IPL, the final of the 2016 edition will take place at the Wankhede Stadium.
