Tymal Mills was one of the biggest buys last season in the IPL after the Royal Challengers Bangalore team dished out a whopping ₹12 crores for him in the auction. The left arm pacer bowls at some top speeds and has also got a beautiful slower ball. However, his economy rate was on the higher side and hence, he missed out on an IPL contract this year.

However, after being left out of the Indian Premier League, Mills found himself a new T20 franchise. Mills is all set to make his debut in the Pakistan Super League next month after being snapped up by the Pakistan-based outfit – Karachi Kings.

The PSL will take place from 22 February to 25 March this year. This is the third season for the PSL and will feature six teams competing against each other. There will be 34 matches played this time with the majority of the tournament conducted in the UAE. The last three matches will be played in Pakistan at Karachi and Lahore.

Mills to join the Karachi Kings side

The Sussex left-arm pacer will replace Mitchell Johnson at Karachi after the Australian was signed by IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders. Johnson decided to pull out of the PSL earlier. Further, Karachi Kings has replaced Luke Wright with fellow former England player Joe Denly. Joe Denly has had a good outing in the BBL.

Mills has played four Twenty20 internationals for England, most recently in February 2017. He longer plays first-class or one-day cricket because of a back injury. Kent batsman Denly, 31, played nine one-day internationals and five T20s in 2009 and 2010. Luke Wright confirmed that he pulled out of the Pakistan Super League.

He said that he has been carrying some niggles around for quite a while now. The England all-rounder lauded the PSL as a great tournament and said it was unfortunate to miss it. He hoped that he could play in PSL the next season. “For those asking, sadly I’ve had to pull out the PSL this year,” said Wright. “I’ve been carrying niggles all winter and they aren’t getting better so, to be fair to both Karachi Kings and Sussex, I respectfully have to miss it. Great tournament. Hope to play in it next year.”
