The latest match of IPL 2022 saw Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals battling it against each other where DC grabbed a stunning victory by eight wickets to keep their playoff hopes alive. Though there were two heroes for DC in the last game in the form of Mitchell Marsh and David Warner, skipper Rishabh Pant talked of missing Prithvi Shaw in the squad.

Shaw last played for Capitals on May 1 against Lucknow Super Giants and has been missing the action thereafter. It was only in a recent while when he gave updates on his health and talked of being admitted to the hospital due to fever. However, Pant gave some clarity on his health and added the batter has something like typhoid.

“We miss him but we can’t control that. He has typhoid or something like that is what the doctor told me,” said Pant while speaking to Star Sports.

It was close to a perfect game as I believe there is always space for improvement: Rishabh Pant

Talking of the game between DC and RR, the Capitals were chasing 161 runs and lost opener Srikar Bharat on duck, but what followed next was no less than a thunderstorm. Marsh and Warner wreaked havoc in Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, to take their side over the line with 11 balls remaining. While Marsh starred with 89 off 62 balls, Warner supported him with an unbeaten fifty that saw them finishing the game effortlessly.

“It was close to a perfect game as I believe there is always space for improvement. On these kinds of wickets where there is little turn, you can go either way. I am happy we bowled first. I thought 140-160 was a good score and said so at the toss. And we got there. Destiny is always on your hands, you can look to give 100 percent. The fielding could be better, but this was close to a perfect game,” he added.
