Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed believes that the success of Windies tour should bring international cricket back to the country soon. The Men in Green whitewashed the visitors in the three-match T20I series which was played at the National Stadium in Karachi over the last three days. Sarfraz was happy with his team’s performance as the youngsters stepped up to the task. However, he also went on to say that the other teams now have no justifications left to avoid touring Pakistan.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has tried their best in reviving international cricket back to the country. They hosted World XI last year after which Sri Lanka also visited the country for a solitary game. Now Windies have spent their time in the country for last 3 days and all the matches including the final of PSL were successfully hosted by them.

People of Karachi have proved to the world

Sarfraz Ahmed, after winning the third and final T20I, was ecstatic more with the fact that cricket returned to his country and felt more matches will be played soon. “I don’t think teams have any excuses left [after the success of this series] for not coming to Pakistan anymore. Even the crowd turnout today was massive despite this match being the third match [of the series]. The people of Karachi have proved to the world that cricket can be played in Pakistan. So, the teams should not be looking for any explanations to not to tour Pakistan,” he said.

He also felt that the international cricket will return to Pakistan this year or next year as the teams won’t be able to give excuses anymore. “An ICC World XI side has come to Pakistan, we have had PSL final [in Karachi] before that Sri Lanka had come to Pakistan. So, I expect no team will be using security concern as an excuse in the future. This year or the next year, [international] cricket will come back to Pakistan,” Sarfraz added in the press conference.
