Preview:
India Red and India Green clashed off in the last league match of the Duleep Trophy 2019 and will once again come tougher to be part of the tournament. The first match of the tournament between Green and Blue was a wash out while India Red took the first innings lead in both their matches. In the end, the NRR quotient was needed to decide the second finalist. Green had a Quotient of 1.197 while Blue’s was only 0.630.
Akshath Reddy scored 146 on the first day of the match against Red to help Green finish on 440. Karun Nair’s 90 and Mahipal Lomror’s fighting 126 pushed India Red close to 400. But Avesh Khan’s quick-fire 64 batting at No.10 handed them a marginal lead of 1 run. Akshay Wakhare claimed a 5-wicket haul for the Team Red while Dharmendrasinh Jadeja claimed 4-fer after scoring 37 with the bat for Team Green.
Weather Condition/Report:
The forecast predicts thunderstorms for Bangalore in the next five days. The opening day and the final day especially have poor weather forecast and high chances of rain in the afternoon. Since this game is of five days unlike the league matches, at least the first innings of both teams is expected to be completed.
Pitch Condition/Report:
The Chinnaswamy stadium has of late become a den for the fast bowlers especially in the multi-day matches. The teams with solid pace attacks were benefited during the last Ranji Trophy season. In this wet weather conditions, the pacers might enjoy the help from the pitch.
Team News:
Ishan Kishan returns after playing for India A in the unofficial ODI series against South Africa A.
Axar Patel, Ishan Porel and Rahul Chahar are playing for India A.
Priyam Garg was hospitalized after suffering a blow on the neck during the last match.
Probable Playing XIs:
India Red:
Priyank Panchal (C), Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Ankit Kalsi/KS Bharat, Ishan Kishan (WK), Mahipal Lomror, Aditya Sarwate, Akshay Wakhare, Jaydev Unadkat, Avesh Khan, Sandeep Warrier.
Bench: Ankit Kalsi/KS Bharat, Varun Aaron, Harpreet Singh Bhatia, Axar Patel

Bench: Priyam Garg, Ishan Porel, Jayant Yadav, Rahul Chahar, Milind Kumar
Top Picks:
Karun Nair is making a statement with bat and is on a mission to make a return to the Indian Test team. The opening batters Priyank Panchal, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Akshath Reddy are averaging high 60s in first-class cricket over the last 12 months.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Captain – Priyank Panchal, Karun Nair, Akshath Reddy, Siddhesh Lad
Vice-Captain – Ishan Kishan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Jaydev Unadkat, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja
A couple of seasons ago, Ishan Kishan had a tough time in the Duleep Trophy bagging a hat-trick of ducks. He finally made a mark in this tournament with a fifty against India Blue and followed it with 39, 55 and 40 for India A this week. Kishan will stand behind the wickets for a bowling attack which will help him affect no less than five dismissals across two innings. A couple of the 30s and 5+ dismissals are enough from the young keeper to make him vice-captain. Same can be said about Akshay Wadkar of India Green.
Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Ishan Kishan
Batters – Karun Nair (C), Priyank Panchal, Akshath Reddy (VC), Siddhesh Lad
All-Rounders – Mahipal Lomror, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja
Bowlers – Akshay Wakhare, Tanveer-Ul-Haq, Ankit Rajpoot, Avesh Khan
Suggested Playing XI No.2 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Ishan Kishan (VC), Akshay Wadkar
Batters – Karun Nair, Priyank Panchal (C), Akshath Reddy, Siddhesh Lad
All-Rounders – Dharmendrasinh Jadeja
Bowlers – Rajesh Mohanty, Ankit Rajpoot, Jaydev Unadkat, Sandeep Warrier
Expert Advice:
In the absence of Ishan Porel, one among Jayant Yadav and Rajesh Mohanty is expected to join the playing XI of India Green. With the pitch likely to support seamers, Mohanty could get a chance after a brilliant Ranji Trophy where he averaged under 20.
Probable Winners:
India Red is expected to win the Duleep Trophy due to more depth in both batting and bowling.
