The Chennai Super Kings are one of the few Indian Premier League franchises that revel in the fact that they have some continuity. Having the core of their side a constant since the beginning of the IPL all those years ago in 2008, it is fair to say that there is a clear family tradition within the ranks. At least when it comes to Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, and Dwayne Bravo.
While Raina and Dhoni have been a prominent part of the CSK setup dating back to 2008, Dwayne Bravo has been the journeyman of sorts and finally found an IPL franchise which he now can call home. And the trio of ‘Thallas’ as they have been referred to by their respective fans, have been one of the reasons behind their victory and instrumental in clinching the IPL 2018 title, something many did not expect them to do, especially following their two-year ban.
Bravo, at 34 is continuing to turn heads with some splendid performances in the IPL and in general – the limited-overs’ format as well. His ability to bowl the slower ball to good effect towards the later stages of an innings is a boon for many a captain. He is also more than handy with the bat, something that is lacking in terms of most all-rounders today as well.
Sakshi is like a sister: Dwayne Bravo
Speaking about his relationship with the CSK team, Bravo went ahead and stated that he refers to everyone as his brother while Sakshi and he refer to each other as brother and sister.
“I am close to a lot of players like Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni. We call each other ‘brother’. His [Dhoni’s] wife Sakshi and I also call each other brother and sister,” the cricketer-turned-part-time- DJ says.
