The 2021-22 Ashes series between England and Australia is one that will have the attention of the cricketing world. Cricket’s oldest rivalry will commence on 8th December 2021.

And now, reports have stated that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has received the Covid-19 guidelines for the tour from Cricket Australia (CA) and they are way better than what was anticipated. And, the England cricketers also received emails stating that these guidelines will be shared with them within 10 days.

Also, the England cricketers are supposed to convey to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) regarding their availability for The Ashes by 4th October 2021. The T20 World Cup is set to be played in the months of October and November this year, and the England cricket team will be travelling to the UAE on 8th October 2021, and the Ashes squad will be announced before that.

ECB has focused on getting the families along with the players for The Ashes

Also, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has reached a compromise regarding the quarantine rules in Australia with respect to the players’ families also travelling with them. It is likely that the families will be allowed to travel with the cricketers, but will have to undergo a strict 14-day quarantine period.

Also, the wives and girlfriends of the England cricketers will be travelling with the players to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the T20 World Cup this year. And, the England cricketers would want their families to be given freedom when they visit the land of the kangaroos.

Another thing to be noted is, restrictions regarding Covid-19 rules and regulations vary by state in Australia. The five cities that will host the five-Test matches (in the same order) are Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth. The 2021 Ashes series will conclude on 18th January 2022.

The 2019 Ashes series that was played in England was an absolutely pulsating one, with the five-match Test series between the two sides ending in a 2-2 draw.
