The match tested everyone’s nerves and made everyone shout their lungs out of happiness after India manage to win.

But, in an unfortunate event, an elderly man from Bistauli village in Gorakhpur, UP died of heart attack after watching the India-Bangladesh thriller on Wednesday. The incident happened during the last overs of India’s nailbiting one-run win over Bangladesh.

According to reports, Om Prakash Shukla, was watching the match on television and complained of severe chest pain just after Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim cracked two back to back fours off Hardik Pandya’s dramatic last over which took Bangladesh just an inch away from a famous win. Shukla died shortly after.

Apparently, Pandya after getting smacked for two fours off the 1st three ball of his decisive over came back miraculously and effected three dismissals of the final three deliveries as India won the game by one run.

The old man ran a grocery store in Delhi for several years before settling down in Gorakhpur. He is survived by three sons.

India, defending a target of 147, found an early success as they chipped in with a early wicket. But, the Bangladeshis got back on the track and dangerously closed towards finishing the game. The match was becoming a very intriguing contest as the finals overs approached. Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim had keep the Bangladeshi hopes alive and made the Indian fans very nervous.

The match boiled down to 27 runs needed off the last 18 balls. Nehra bowled did his best and snapped up the crucial wicket of Soumya Sarkar and gave away 10 runs in return. With 17 required off last 12, MS Dhoni turned to Bumrah who pulled back things in India’s favor with a tight over, giving away just six runs off the crucial 19th over before Hardik bowled the memorable over.
