Former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis took to twitter to show his disappointment over the recent ban imposed on the Cricket South Africa from hosting major tournaments.
On April 25, the South African sports minister, Fikile Mbalula, banned the Cricket South Africa (CSA) from hosting any major international tournaments after the cricket board failed to meet several transformational targets.

Expressing his dissatisfaction over the decision made by the sports minister, the legendary all-rounder tweeted, “So sad that i find myself embarrassed to call myself a South African so often these days #no place for politics in sport.”

Clearly, Kallis was unimpressed with the involvement of politics in the sport. Former cricketer Pat Symcox also retweeted wondering how golf and swimming escaped the beat down.
The ban will be reviewed after the next annual report in the 2016-17 cycle and so, South African cricket is unlikely to be seriously affected. It is not due to host any major ICC tournament until at least 2023 but is scheduled to host the Under-19 World Cup in 2020.
CSA was unavailable for a detailed comment but the CSA communications manager Altaaf Kazi told Sport24: ‘”We need to review the contents of the report and understand where transformation targets were not met before making any further comments.”
