India showed up against England on day one of the first Test match of the series where the home side won the toss and chose to show up with willows first. As the English conditions prove to be favourable for seamers, India walked up the field with their prime set of pacers and even excluded ace spinner Ravi Ashwin from the squad.
Jasprit Bumrah kicked off the bowling show for India as he picked the first wicket of the game and it was gradually followed by all the seamers. However, Mohammed Shami has been most successful so far as he got two wickets under his belt before the tea session and one just after it. It was yet another review that turned successful from the Indian side. Jonny Bairstow was on the crease where Shami trapped him in his lethal delivery and went on to appeal upright.

The on-field umpire didn’t give a nod and India decided to use another DRS for the day. As soon as the ball-tracking came on the fore, the wave of happiness ran amid the visiting squad. Talking about India’s pace attack so far, Bumrah sent back Rory Burns and Siraj ended the show for Zak Crawley. Talking about Shami, he remained successful in waving goodbye to Bairstow, Sibley, and Lawrence.
India pulled off another successful review in the case of Zak Crawley
While Crawley returned back, it was another successful review by the Indian team. Kohli looked in some doubt when wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant convinced him to go with it. It will be a thing to see if Indian batters will be able to tackle the swing of English seamers which has been their low point lately. England batters are currently on the crease where their skipper Joe Root seems adamant to pull off a remarkable inning. He is playing with all his strength and has 53 runs (at the time of writing) under his belt.
It remains to be seen if Indian skipper Virat Kohli will fetch a century against England which is much awaited at the current point in time.
