Official broadcaster Sky Sports will do something new in their coverage of the rescheduled Test match between England and India. England’s batter Ollie Pope who is also an excellent fielder will be wearing a camera on his helmet while fielding at short leg. The innovation has already received approval from both the International Cricket Council (ICC) and England Cricket Board (ECB).

The official broadcaster hopes that it will “give viewers a unique view of the action out in the middle”. Even though the camera will not pick up noise so the fans cannot listen to the noise. Sky has previously tried out a similar innovation during the inaugural edition of The Hundred last year when the wicketkeeper-batter Tom Moores wore a camera while keeping the wickets.

Ollie Pope retains his position in England playing XI

The England team management has announced its playing XI for the upcoming Test match against India. Batter Ollie Pope has retained his place after playing some handy knocks against New Zealand. Team selectors have also shown faith in opener Zak Crawley and the right-handed batter will be looking to play a match-winning knock against India to secure his place at the opening slot.

Meanwhile, veteran pacer James Anderson has also returned to the squad. Taking the new ball, Anderson will look to scalp early wickets for his side and put his team in a commanding position. Former skipper Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and captain Ben Stokes will handle the middle-order of the English side.

Sam Billings has replaced the wicketkeeper-batter Ben Foakes after the latter returned Covid-19 positive. Pacer Matthew Potts who had a good outing against the Kiwi side will also look to play a key role for the home team. England needs to win the Test match to level the series.

England’s playing XI for rescheduled India Test: Alex Lees, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (c), Sam Billings (w), Matthew Potts, Stuart Broad, Jack Leach, James Anderson.
