Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav have completed their mandatory quarantine period and have joined the Indian team at Lord’s. This signals that both the players will thus be available for selection in the third Test. Both Shaw and Yadav flew to England from Colombo and reached UK on August 3 and were undergoing the mandatory quarantine.

They were called in as replacements after Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan were ruled out of the Test series owing to injuries. Previously, both were scheduled to leave for England after the India-Sri Lanka series was wrapped up. But when they were identified as close contacts of Krunal Pandya who tested positive for Covid-19 during the series, the trip got a tad bit delayed.

The official Instagram account of the Indian cricket team has now posted a picture of the duo from Lord’s. Shaw and Yadav are spotted in India’s practice jersey and seem all happy as they are posing for the picture. “Look who’s joined us at Lord’s Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav have completed their quarantine period and have joined #TeamIndia 🇮🇳 #ENGvIND” the caption of the post read.

Shaw and Surya enjoyed their quarantine

Both of the players had found out some ways to deal with their quarantine periods. In the Instagram post, Shaw and Yadav were mimicking a scene from the movie, Andaz Apna Apna. They shared the funny and entertaining video on their Instagram accounts. Yadav captioned the post as “Sir aap purush hi nahi, maha purush hain.”

The video was liked by their fans and followers as the comment section was flooded with replies. Yuzvendra Chahal and Rashid Khan too dropped in the laughing emojis on the post. Ahead of the third Test, there are certain discussions swirling in the wind about a few changes in the batting line-up of India.

The middle order of the side has struggled for some time now, with Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara being unable to build on their innings. With the alternatives available with the side, it would be for everyone to watch if the Indian team takes the call of making any tweaks for the next Test.
