The Indian side dominated England on Day One of the second Test at Lord’s. India wielded the willow first, and their scorecard read 276/3 at the conclusion of the First Day. While KL Rahul scored a classy ton, Rohit Sharma played a pivotal role at the top of the order by scoring a splendid 145-ball 83.

The ‘Hitman’ was adept at the crease, pounced on the loose deliveries that the England bowlers offered, and allowed India to dominate the opposition. Sharma’s innings was filled with 11 fours and a six.

Sharma was also involved in a 126-run opening stand alongside KL Rahul, setting the platform for a massive total for the Indian side at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. Apart from Rohit Sharma, Indian skipper Virat Kohli also contributed 42 vital runs to the team total and put on a 117-run stand with Rahul as well.

Yet again, pace bowling legend James Anderson was the star performer for the England side with the red cherry in hand. Anderson made the ball move both ways, posed questions to the Indian batsmen, and was rewarded for his effort with 2 wickets. Apart from Anderson, Ollie Robinson also scalped a wicket as well. The Test series between India and England is currently level at 0-0 after incessant rains forced the first Test match of the series that was played at Nottingham to end in a draw.
