England cricketer Ben Duckett does it again and gets roasted too. The 24-year-old left-hand batsman had in the past been trolled for remarking that India captain Virat Kohli’s team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) – is a joke. It was around a year ago and but the man took little lesson and hinted at something similar on Friday, this time at Kohli himself after the latter belted his 41st ODI hundred in the third match against Australia. The Indian fans were clearly not happy with him and trolled him.

Kohli hit his second consecutive hundred of the series after the match-winning 116 in Nagpur after Australia totalled 313 for 5 batting first. India lost quite a few wickets early in the chase and it was left to the Indian captain to inch closer to the target by making partnerships.

He put up 59 runs with Mahendra Singh Dhoni (26); 88 with Kedar Jadhav (26) and 45 with Vijay Shankar (32) to take his side nearer to 314 before falling for 123 in the 38th over. His knock came in 95 balls and included 16 fours and a six. His dismissal was a crucial blow for India and derailed their chase even though the tail-enders did their bit. India were all out for 281, losing the game by 32 runs.

Duckett used the word ‘joke’ to describe Kohli

Duckett, who was recently in India playing for the England Lions against India ‘A’ replied to a tweet that wanted an adjective to describe Kohli and he said “A joke?” The Indian fans were livid with the cricketer’s yet another “joke” remark and lashed out at him.

Here are some of the reactions the Twitterati came up with lashing out at Duckett who has played four Tests and three ODIs for England since 2016.

India now lead the five-match series 2-1 and will take on the Aussies in Mohali for the fourth match on Sunday, March 10.
