England cricketers sketch to raise charity funds and celebrate United Cricket day: The England cricketers have now resorted to pencil, colours and paper sketching the caricatures of each other describing the best moments of Ashes 2005-2015 for one another. The sketches are being drawn in order to raise funds for UK’s leading charities Lord’s Taverners, Chance to Shine and PC Benevolent Fund, whose aim is to improve lives through cricket.

The likes of Andrew Strauss, Michael Vaughan, Andrew Flintoff, Joe Root and James Anderson have all tried their hands on drawing caricatures of their teammates. Players have teamed up for the fundraising and the sketches will be available on e-bay with the auction open until 23rd August, Sunday.

The players and the spectators of the third day of the final Ashes Test match will be seen sporting something blue to support and celebrate Cricket United Day.

Captain Alastair Cook said: “It’s a bit of fun and the lads enjoyed drawing the 2005 guys. “We hope the portraits will raise much-needed funds for three fantastic charities, the Lord’s Taverners, Chance to Shine and the PCA Benevolent Fund, and help improve lives through cricket. It’s safe to say that the majority of us are not budding artists, but we’d urge all cricket fans to support the Cricket United appeal either through bidding for the drawings on eBay or by helping to turn the Kia Oval blue on August 22.”

Joe Root, the exception in the team, is a A-level art student, who sketched the now infamous celebration of Andrew Flintoff, he drew a clearly high Flintoff asking about renting a boat, the reference made is to the all-rounder who makes attempts to get out to the sea in order to find Ian Botham, who he believed was enjoying late night drink on a boat somewhere.
