England continued their domination over Windies in the ODI format as they defeated the visitors by a huge 124-run margin in the 3rd ODI game at Bristol. Moeen Ali’s 53-ball century powered the hosts to a huge total of 369/9. Chris Gayle’s 94 at the top kept Windies in the hunt but the Caribbean team failed to survive long after the devastating batsman departed.

Here we look at all the stats and records created during the game.

2 – This was the 2nd instance when Gayle ran himself out in the 90s in ODI cricket. He was run out exactly on 94 against Sri Lanka in 2008 as well. Only Hansie Cronje (3) and Martin Crowe (3) got run out in the 90s on more occasions than him.

4 – Moeen Ali became only the 4th player to score a century in ODIs coming in to bat after completion of the 30th over. AB de Villiers scored centuries on two different occasions while Glenn Maxwell scored against Sri Lanka in the 2015 World Cup. Jos Buttler did the same during his 46-ball century against Pakistan in 2015.

8 – Ali’s eight sixes in this innings are the joint most by an English player in an ODI innings. Jos Buttler also hit eight sixes against Pakistan in 2015 at Dubai.

28 – Number of sixes both the teams collectively plundered in this game. These are the 4th most number of sixes recorded in an ODI and the most in an ODI in England. The Oval ODI in 2015 between England and New Zealand witnessed 27 sixes.

53 – Ali’s 53-ball century is the 2nd fastest for the team in ODI cricket. Jos Buttler’s 46-ball century against Pakistan in 2015 is the fastest ODI hundred for the Brits.

57 – His century off 53 balls is the fastest by any player batting at No.7 or lower. James Faulkner scored a century off 57 balls against India in 2013 while batting at No.7.

61 – The 53-ball ton Moeen hit is the fastest in an ODI on English soil. Buttler scored the previous fastest ODI century in England which was off 61 balls against Sri Lanka at Lord’s in 2014.

222 – Innings Joe Root needed for completing 10000 runs in International cricket. He is the 4th quickest overall and the fastest among England players to complete 10000-run milestone in Internationals.

369/9 – England’s total of 369 in this game is the highest total in the England-Windies ODI matches. The previous highest in the ODIs between the two sides was 328/7 by England in 2009 at Birmingham.
