England vs India: Danielle Wyatt prays for the rain gods to stay away from Lord's

The build-up to the second Test match at the iconic Lord’s was all about how the heat in London over the last few days. Even the teams were pondering over playing two spinners with the pitch expected to break midway through the game. But come the match day, the weather changed dramatically and it all went gloomy and overcast. It started raining in the morning and has delayed the start of the play on the opening day of the Test match.

Persistent drizzle has forced the groundsmen to keep the covers on and the excitement of yet another engrossing battle between India and England has frustratingly delayed. The fans were waiting eagerly waiting for the contest to begin after witnessing one of the best Test matches in the recent times at Edgbaston. But the rain gods seem to have final say on the first day with 92% chances of rain.

Even England women cricketer Danielle Wyatt was excited about the game. But the clouds are refusing to go away in London and instead has left her praying to the rain gods to stop and let the action begin at the Home of Cricket.

Danielle Wyatt is currently busy playing in the ongoing Kia Super League for the Southern Vipers. Her team is not enduring the best of the seasons as they have won only a couple of matches out of 7 so far and are languishing at the fifth position in the points table.

Even Wyatt is not having best time with the bat in the middle. She has scored only 94 runs in 6 outings so far at a mediocre average of 15.66 with her highest score being only 36. She was also dropped from their previous game against Yorkshire Diamonds and is likely to spend some more time on the bench as the team won by 16 runs to break their 5-match losing streak.
