Although there is not an official word on the Trent Bridge pitch yet there seems to be enough to suggest that it might assist the pacers more.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan is known to make cheeky comments, or take a sly dig at Indians on social media. He is often the one who seems to go at either Virat Kohli or Indian cricket in general by posting sarcastic comments. With England and India gearing up to play five-match Test series starting on August 4, Vaughan is again at it, this time mocking Indians with a hilarious take on pitch.

Well, it’s a known fact that that the pitches for the Test series used will assist pacers more than the spinners. With constant seam and swing movement, the batters will find it hard to negotiate the first hour of play. Hence the cricketer-turned-commentator thought to use this an opportunity and take a dig at Indians and their followers by posting a picture related to pitch.

Vaughan took to Twitter and posted a picture by modifying the Trent Bridge pitch, by adding trees and grass in the playing area. He added a caption to and wrote:  Can’t wait for the Test series to start on Weds. Should be a great series !! #ENGvIND

This Tweet is not surprising from Vaughan, as his team were giving a pounding in India, when the four-match series took place, earlier this year. Barring a victory in the first Test match, Indian spinners ran riot and dismissed the England team for less than 200 on multiple occassions.

So with India now visiting England, the pitch might have a tinge of grass, which might make the India batters struggle to cope with the likes of James Anderson, Stuart Broad, and Chris Woakes.

Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav set to travel to England

India received a big boost as Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav are set to travel to England, after returning with three COVID-19 negative tests. With Indian and England boards arranging special travel provisions, the duo will most probably reach the United Kingdom this week. Although the duo might not get to play anytime soon, their inclusion sure gives them an exposure to get used to the English conditions.

Although there is not an official word on the Trent Bridge pitch yet there seems to be enough to suggest that it might assist the pacers more.
