The final game of three-match Test series between England and Pakistan will start on Friday where the visitors aim for their first win of the tour. The drawn 2nd Test match evaporated the hopes of Pakistan to register their first Test series win in England in more than two decades. However, they have got an opportunity to hold a Test series against the English team. Pakistan has not lost a Test series against England post their dramatic tour in 2010. This match is going to be a crucial one on personal extent for Azhar Ali due to his poor batting form in recent years.

All the key stats and numbers ahead of the final Test of the 3-match series in Southampton:

0/8 – The drawn Southampton Test earlier this week brought an end to Pakistan’s 7-match losing streak in away Test matches. It is their longest losing streak in Test cricket while playing outside Pakistan.

Their last win outside Pakistan came in November 2018 during the 2018 Test series against New Zealand in UAE. Pakistan’s last Test victory outside Asia also came against England in 2018 at the Lord’s.

1/9 – The Southampton Test became the first home Test for Sam Curran where he didn’t end up on the winning side. The left-hander witnessed England winning in all the eight Test matches he played at home prior to it. However, Curran is the only active English player to not witness an England defeat at home even after playing nine Tests.

7 – Stuart Broad has claimed three wickets in all the seven innings he bowled in Test cricket in the ongoing home season. Broad has also picked up 3+ wickets in each of his last eight home Test innings.

20.41Azhar Ali has scored only 347 runs in ten Tests since the start of the 2018-19 Test series in South Africa (2018 Boxing Day) at an average of 20.41 with help of only one fifty-plus score (A century at home against Sri Lanka).

Azhar Ali is the only top-order player since the 2018 Boxing Day to have recorded only one score of 50+ despite playing ten or more Tests.

593James Anderson is seven wickets away from becoming the first pace bowler to claim 600 wickets in Test cricket. Only three players have claimed as many as 600 wickets in Test cricket till date.

2010 – Last time England won a Test series against Pakistan was way back in 2010 when they won the 4-match home series by 3-1 margin. England lost both the Test series they played against Pakistan in UAE during this period while two other series at home came to end in a draw.

5957 – Runs aggregated by Azhar Ali during his 80-match Test career thus far. The Pakistan Test skipper needs 63 more runs to become the only the 5th player to complete 6000 Test runs for Pakistan. His teammate Babar Azam needs 30 more runs to complete 2000 runs in Test cricket.
