The time is running out for both, England and Pakistan, and are left with only two ODIs before they finalise their World Cup squads. The two teams will fight it out in the fourth of the five-match ODI series on Friday which will be played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. England are leading the series by 2-0 and will be looking to seal the fate by winning this match.

Having said that, their bowling woes still exist and without Jofra Archer, they have literally looked toothless. The likes of Liam Plunkett and David Willey have gone for a plenty while Chris Woakes has at least picked wickets. The batting has been exceptional so far and the stakes will be once again high with the match being played on the flattest pitch in England. The hosts had slammed 444 runs in 2016 when the two teams last met at the venue.

Pakistan, on the other hand, have been found wanting with the ball as well. They have been taking the catches either and the fielding has been exposed in this series so far. On the batting front, the likes of Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Ahmed should contribute more in order to ensure that the pace of the run-scoring doesn’t dip at any stage in the game.

Pitch Report

England have happy memories playing at the Trent Bridge. They smashed a record 481 runs against Australia last year and would love to replicate a similar feat on Friday as well. It will be definitely a high-scoring encounter and the bowlers should somehow come up with the plans of restricting the opposition batting.

Weather Conditions

Rain is likely to play spoilsport in Nottingham as the clouds are expected to hover over the Trent Bridge. It might rain the whole day with the percentage chances of shower are close to 40-50 according to Accuweather and there is no respite at any stage in the day.

Team Combinations

England

England will miss their captain Eoin Morgan as he has been suspended for the over-rate offence in the previous game. Jos Buttler will come back to lead the side while Jofra Archer should return to the fold as well after a significant rest. There is no update over Adil Rashid and it remains unknown if he will play. In that case, Joe Denly might just get another chance to stake his claim.

Probable XI: Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler (c & wk), Moeen Ali, Joe Denly, Chris Woakes, Jofra Archer/David Willey, Tom Curran, Liam Plunkett.

Pakistan

Pakistan are doing fine with the bat. But they might just be tempted to bring in Shoaib Malik who has joined the team ahead of the second ODI but is yet to play a game. Haris Sohail looks the likeliest candidate to make way despite doing well. Faheem Ashraf hasn’t impressed with his all-round abilities at all in this series and the young Mohammad Hasnain could be tried. It seems that Mohammad Hafeez is yet to recover from his injury.

Probable XI: Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail/Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed (c & wk), Asif Ali, Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Faheem Ashraf/Mohammad Hasnain, Junaid Khan.
