England Women are having a troubled time down under at the moment against Australia Women in the Ashes. However, there is some good news coming their way too. They are set to host South Africa Women and New Zealand Women in the English summer of 2018. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have confirmed that the England Women will be hosting the two powerful cricketing teams.

South Africa Women will feature in the 3 ODI series. Later, the White Ferns will join the two teams for the shortest format of the game in the tri-series. The White Ferns will also play the ODI series against England Women. The ECB also announced that the number of domestic matches for the Women’s cricketers will be increased from the coming season.

This has come to the fore as a result of the growing popularity of the women’s cricket in the country. Despite all the efforts, the board still needs to figure out ways to add more Test matches for the eves. They recently played a one off Test in the Ashes.

“We are very excited to be staging two different series against high-class opposition next summer with an expanded fixture list reflecting increased spectator interest in watching the England Women’s team in action. Last summer’s (2017) World Cup success must be the watershed moment for our game that everyone is saying it could be. We will measure that through on-pitch performances, ticket sales, numbers of viewers and listeners and our ability to attract new fans and participants,” Clare Connor, ECB director of women’s cricket quoted.
