England Women will step into the 3-match home T20I series against the Windies Women with two major winning streaks on their hand. Since losing the Women’s WT20 final last year, the England side won all the six T20Is they played. They whitewashed both India and Sri Lanka earlier this year in series of three matches. At the same time, the Heather Knight-led side won 13 matches across all formats since their ODI series defeat in India.
After going down 0-2 in the 3-match ODI series, England earned a consolation win in the final ODI. They later won the next nine matches on their sub-continent tour as they won the ODI series 3-0 against Sri Lanka in addition to the T20I series against the two nations. They extended their streak when they faced the Windies Women in the 3-match ODI series last week. The Caribbean team faltered in all three matches and suffered huge defeats.
The 1st game of the 3-match T20I series between England Women and Windies Women will be hosted by the County Ground in Northampton.
The match starts at 7:00 PM local time (6:00 PM GMT) (11:30 PM IST). The game will be live on Sky Sports Mix in England.
Last five completed T20I matches:
England Women: W, W, W, W, W.
Windies Women: W, W, W, L, T (W).
The Northampton’s past record for Women’s Twenty20s might not have a say given the changes in the format and regulations. It last hosted this format in 2014 and has had an average first innings score of 124. During the 2018 T20 Blast, the average first innings total at this venue read 194. The season began with 200+ totals before it came down. A high-scoring game can be expected between England and the Windies as this is the start of the season only.

Katherine Brunt and Natalie Sciver return to the T20I squad after being rested for the final ODI. Stafanie Taylor suffered a blow on her right little finger in the 3rd ODI but X-rays showed no fracture.
Danielle Wyatt has been a revolution with the bat in the T20I format ever since her return as an opener post the Women’s ODI CWC in 2017. In 24 T20I innings during this span, Wyatt scored 811 runs at an average of 35.26 and an SR of 139.34 with two hundreds and five fifties. Chasing gets the better out of Wyatt as in this span, she scored 479 runs in 12 T20I chases. She has an average of 43.54 and an SR of 148.29 having scored her both T20I tons.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
In the present form, the openers Hayley Matthews and Danielle Wyatt would be ideal options as the multipliers. Tammy Beaumont can be deadly if England bats first as she has good numbers. Natalie Sciver’s performances will mainly depend on where and how many balls she would bat for. Stafanie Taylor is currently going through a lean patch and suffering an injury only worsen her chances.
Other Captain/Vice-Captain Options (in order) – Heather Knight, Katharine Brunt, Any Shrubsole, Amy Jones, Afy Fletcher, Sarah Taylor, Kate Cross.
Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Sarah Taylor
Batters – Chedean Nation, Danielle Wyatt (VC), Tammy Beaumont, Kyshona Knight

England Women might field their best XI which is similar to what they fielded in the first two ODIs. They might be making changes as they did in the 3rd ODI only after sealing the series.
England Women are expected to continue their dominance over the Windies Women and go 1-0 up.
