The rains have had an impact on the ODI series between England Women and Windies Women as the last two matches turned out to be less than 40-over games. However, the hosts were dominant irrespective of the weather conditions as they defeated the Windies Women by big margins throughout the series. The T20I series too got affected as the first match was abandoned without the toss. The matches to be held in Northampton suffered due to rains over the week.
As a result, the game between Northamptonshire and Australia A to be played on Thursday was shifted to other venue owing to wet ground condition. After losing a chance of hosting two games of International teams, the County Ground in Northampton would be hoping to see clear skies on Friday for the 2nd T20I. The England Women are currently on a winning streak of six matches in T20I cricket and 13 across all formats in International cricket.
The 2nd game of the 3-match T20I series between England Women and Windies Women will be hosted by the County Ground in Northampton.
The match starts at 7:00 PM local time (6:00 PM GMT) (11:30 PM IST). The game will be live on Sky Sports Mix in England.
Last five completed T20I matches:
England Women: W, W, W, W, W.
Windies Women: W, W, W, L, T (W).
The County Ground in Northampton has been a high-scoring venue in Men’s T20Is over the last two years. However, the venue has been drenched by rain over the last couple of years which kept it under covers. This could affect the track if not enough dry conditions heading into the game.
Average 1st innings score: 124 (Women’s T20Is)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 5, Lost – 0
Probable Playing XIs:
Danielle Wyatt, Tammy Beaumont, Amy Jones, Sarah Taylor (WK), Heather Knight (C), Natalie Sciver, Katherine Brunt, Anya Shrubsole, Kate Cross, Sophie Ecclestone, Laura Marsh.
Bench – Jenny Gunn, Lauren Winfield, Fran Wilson, Linsey Smith.
Hayley Matthews, Kycia Knight (WK), Shemaine Campbelle, Chedean Nation, Stafanie Taylor (C), Kyshona Knight, Britney Cooper, Stacy-Ann King, Chinelle Henry, Afy Fletcher, Shamilia Connell.

Sophie Ecclestone has a brilliant record in the Twenty20 matches in England. Across 46 T20s Sophie played since 2015, she bagged 62 wickets at an average of 14.5 and has a bowling average of 15.84. Ecclestone picked up at least one wicket in 2/3rd of those 46 T20s.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Hayley Matthews and Danielle Wyatt would be ideal options as the multipliers due to their form and batting position. Tammy Beaumont will come handy if England bats first. Natalie Sciver can also be an option but her performances purely depend in the situation she would bat.
Other Captain/Vice-Captain Options (in order) – Heather Knight, Stafanie Taylor, Katharine Brunt, Any Shrubsole, Amy Jones, Afy Fletcher, Sarah Taylor, Kate Cross.
Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Sarah Taylor
Batters – Chedean Nation, Danielle Wyatt (VC), Tammy Beaumont, Kyshona Knight
All-Rounders – Hayley Matthews (C), Natalie Sciver
Bowlers – Afy Fletcher, Shamilia Connell, Katharine Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone
Suggested Playing XI No.2 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Amy Jones
Batters – Stacy-Ann King, Tammy Beaumont (VC), Heather Knight, Kyshona Knight
All-Rounders – Hayley Matthews, Stafanie Taylor, Natalie Sciver (C)
Bowlers – Anya Shrubsole, Kate Cross, Afy Fletcher
Heather Knight can’t be a direct pick in T20Is like in the ODI format as she bats bit lower and is hardly bowling her full quota of overs. Stafanie Taylor has just recovered from an injury and hasn’t been in greatest of forms of late.
England Women are expected to continue their winning streak and go 1-0 up.
