After Pakistani cricketer, Zubair Ahmed’s untimely death, another very unfortunate incident has happened on a cricket field, this time in England. An English cricketer from Surrey died on Saturday after collapsing on the field. He was playing for the Effingham Cricket Club team in their match against the Newdigate Cricket Club that was played at The Brocus in Newdigate.

After he collapsed on the field, the cricketer was rushed to King’s College Hospital in London. Despite the continuous efforts of the medical team and the hospital staff, the player could not be saved as he took a breath for one last time on Saturday afternoon.

Name is yet to be revealed

As per reports, the cricketer left behind a wife and two children. Following a request from the club and his family, his name can’t be revealed for the time being as not all of his relatives are aware of the accident and his family is not willing to convey the shocking and heartbreaking news to them now.

Zubair Ahmed’s death

A ‘Phil Hughes like’ tragedy took the line of budding Pakistani cricketer Zubair Ahmed on the day when Pakistan was celebrating its 70th Independence Day. Zubair, who is a student of Fakhar Zaman Academy, was playing a club level match when he was hit by the ball on his head. It was reported that Ahmed was batting without wearing any helmet. Many Pakistani cricketers shared their grief and offered condolence to Ahmed’s mourning family.

Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi came up with a great gesture by announcing that Ahmed’s brother would be a part of their franchise for the third edition of PSL. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) offered heartfelt condolences to his family and warned the budding and talented cricketers of the nation not to bat without wearing protective cricket gears, else it can again cut short a supreme talent.
