England limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan feels the T10 League in the United Arab Emirates is the best cricket league in the world he has played in. The 32-year-old Irish-born cricketer who led the Three Lions to their maiden cricket World Cup this month has captained Kerala Kings in the T10 League. Morgan will return to lead the Kings once again this year.

The Kings were also proud to see their captain entering the elite club of World Cup-winning captains. Dubai-based Shafi-ul Mulk, who co-owns the Kings, congratulated Morgan after his feat at Lord’s on July 14 and was told in reply by Morgan that he still cherishes the winning knock he had played in the final of the first edition of the T10 League for the Kings in 2017. In that final played in Sharjah, the southpaw slammed 63 off only 21 balls to see his team win against Punjabi Legends by 8 wickets. Morgan said he still watches the knock on YouTube to feel inspired.

According to Morgan, also the team’s icon player, the T10 League has helped him learn to express self. He has agreed to lead the side again in the third edition this year.

Kerala Kings co-owner says why they pick Morgan as captain

Shafi said there are a number of factors that made him go for Morgan as the captain of the Kerala Kings. He said besides being a calm and composed leader, Morgan has the ability to spot skills in a cricketer and can create winning combinations which makes him a potent captain to lead a side, Gulf News reported.

Morgan became the first England captain to lead the side twice at the Cricket World Cup and he succeeded in winning the trophy eventually. Though the win by the virtue of winning more boundaries hadn’t convinced many supporters, yet nobody can take the glory away from the man that puts him at par with some of the great captains like Clive Lloyd, Ricky Ponting, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

That Morgan is still a force to be wary of limited-overs was seen during the World Cup when he belted 148 runs off just 71 balls against Afghanistan, hitting 17 sixes in the process.
